June Rally to Peel, IOM
Our June rally in Peel went well despite the poor conditions, which prevailed for many weeks before and during the event. Saturday June 4th saw most of us berthed in the marina and a couple of boats rafted-up in the harbour. Due to adverse weather Aurora berthed in Port St. Mary.
After an enjoyable pontoon party we returned on board to dress for dinner.
Having a member living locally was a big plus and Mark’s recommendation resulted in a first class dinner in a venue overlooking the harbour. The table was graced by Marie and Declan of Mary B, Michelle and Matthew of Aviana, Mark and Louise of Kondor, Aiden and Oonagh of Maelduin, [with guests Derek and Betty] Les and Des of Scarth, Stephen and Gary of Púcabán.
Next day being TT Sunday in Peel brought a great festive atmosphere to the town. Street musicians and many types of entertainers created a powerful buzz enjoyed in the sunshine by good-humoured visitors and bikers. After a day on the town we gathered in the Yacht Club for chat and refreshments.
Monday morning saw 4am starts for some while others took a more leisurely leave in the forenoon. We dispersed in various directions to continue cruising of return to work after another happy Westerly gathering.
