Portavadie Muster 2011
The first muster of 2011 was in April at Portavadie Marina on Loch Fyne. With strong winds there were some fast passages for the yachts attending (Carpe Diem having ‘sailed’ past Inchmarnock with a following wind, doing six knots under bare poles!) but the weather remained fair and the crews met for a meal ashore followed by a pontoon get-together. Clar Innis was dressed overall to add to the festivities. There is good walking in the area and one expedition had added interest by observing a pan pan response and rescue in Loch Fyne – the casualty was not, of course, a Westerly.
Mary Buchanan organised this very successful event.
