Fitting Out Supper, 24 April 2010

Our first event of the season was held at West Mersea Yacht Club on 24 April, attended by an encouraging total of 34 people. Two others had an untimely attack of 'flu and unfortunately had to drop out. WMYC provided a splendid meal, delightfully served in attractive surroundings, overlooking the waterside on a fine evening. Our guest speaker was John Sturmer of Gowen Ocean Sailmakers, who gave an excellent dissertation on sail design and construction, leading into a productive question session touching on several aspects including sail care.
