The Westerly Owners' Association - Annual Photographic Competition

Annual Photographic Competition for
‘‘the most impressive digital image including all or part of a Westerly’’

2010 Competition Winner

The Annual Photographic Competition for ‘The most impressive digital image including all or part of a Westerly’ proved to be popular again with 46 entries submitted by the close of 2010.

In response to a request in the last winter Magazine, for a member volunteer to help make the final selection, the ideal person stepped forward – Howard Allum.

Howard is a keen amateur photographer and for 25 years worked as Art Director of a number of national glossy magazines with the selection and editing of photographs being the major and most important part of his job. Howard was offered the job of Art Editor of Yachting Monthly by the then Editor, the late Geoff Pack. Being the ideal person to help judge the competition I promptly asked Howard to chair the small panel of judges which he readily accepted.

The judges finally selected a winner from what we thought were the top ten giving first prize and the trophy to Ken Dougall (Edinburgh) for Pemva, moored at Arisaig.
