The Westerly Owners' Association - Privacy Policy
Westerly Owners' Association, its Area Groups,
and JayT, the Association's administration office, (jointly and
severally described hereafter as "WOA") are concerned
about the privacy of your personal data. This is not just because
of the legislation but because we are consumers too, and we reckon
we should do unto others as we would have them do unto us. However,
WOA is an Association that rejoices in putting members in touch
with members. We do this in the sincere belief that our joint activities,
and the friendships so formed, will greatly enhance the pleasure
of owning a Westerly.
If you do not agree with this spirit and to this
policy, we ask you to surf elsewhere. Therefore, by using this site,
you agree to the following:
Our Use of Personal Data
If you join or interact with WOA through this
site or regular mail, or even at the various shows we attend, WOA
will collect appropriate data from you and use it in the following
ways:
- If you become a member, WOA will record data
about you and your boat. We will then transfer this information
to the WOA administration office for the sole purpose of processing,
organising or arranging your membership and its benefits. You
should note that this includes the printing of selected boat and
owner information in our annual Yearbook, which is circulated
to all our members and close supporters. Also, in providing membership
benefits, WOA will send you, by post or by email, information
about news, events and, from time to time, special offers. In
doing these things, WOA might send your contact details to countries
and territories outside the European Union, as we have members
all over the world.
- If you buy our publications or, as a member,
buy WOA Regalia, we will collect data about you and will transfer
it to the WOA Regalia Secretary for the sole purpose of processing
your order and its delivery.
- If you use this website, our Webmaster will
collect data from your visit to understand better what visitors
want from the site. Any analysis will then be used to enhance
your experience of the site and the Association.
- In following links on our site to third-parties,
for example our merchandise supplier, you will be leaving our
website and will be leaving the scope of this Privacy Policy.
We recommend that you read and accept the Policies and Terms on
those sites, because they will apply.
Other than the above, WOA will NOT share your
information outside the Association for any other marketing purpose.
Protection of Your Personal Data
When you join the Association through this website,
or when you place an order for our publications or regalia or when
you access your account details, we will use a secure server. Any
data you give us will be automatically encrypted using a 'Secure
Socket Layer' session. SSL is an industry standard and is one of
the best ways we ensure your Internet messages are not intercepted.
You should be aware, however, that older browsers do not use SSL.
For protection, you will need Netscape version 4.05 or Microsoft
Internet Explorer browsers, version 4 or above.
WOA will follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure
of personal information that is given to us, in order to prevent
any unauthorised access to it or use of it. Our security procedures
mean that we may sometimes request proof of your identity from you.

You have the right as an individual to find out
what information we hold about you and make corrections, if necessary.
WOA will make all practical efforts to respect your wishes. Even
better, WOA would encourage you to keep in touch with us, to ensure
your membership record is kept up to date.

Changes to the Policy
WOA may have to update this Privacy Policy, from
time to time. Any changes to it will be posted on this page of the
website.
Opting Out

you want to get away from the "madding crowd". We can
understand and respect that. You have the right to ask us to not
use your information and you can do this, or opt out of the Yearbook
inclusion or any email updates, by sending an email to adminoffice@westerly-owners.co.uk,
