Westerly Konsort Propellor

I want to upgrade my fixed 2-blade 14 inch propeller to give better motoring performance into wind and tide. Cost is also an issue so I have ruled out feathering or folding props and intend to fit a fixed 3-blade prop. After talking to several manufactures I have received different advice as to the size. Some say 16 x 12 others a 15 x 13 and that a 16 is to big. Any advice gratefully received. I have a Bukh DV20 engine.

We had a two blade prop on our previous Konsort when we bought her, and changed it for a 3 blade of the same diameter and pitch that came off a Fulmar that was being re-engined (I think with a Vetus 30 or thereabouts) and re-propped with a folding prop. Our engine was a Bukh DV20, as was the Fulmar's original engine.

Manoeuvrability improved as did speed into head seas. Being a wide beam Konsort, sailing speed was less of an importance.

Our present Duo with a VP2003 (28hp) has a three blade 17x12 prop.

I am considering changing from a Volvo 2002 to a Yanmar or a Beta 15, and will therefore need a new propeller with the change of rotation.
We have considerable vibration at the tiller at high revs., presumably prop-wash from the two-bladed prop, so I am probably going for three blades. Has anyone had experience with folding or feathering propellers on the Konsort?
